About 88 Oaks
We purchased 88 Oaks in the fall of 2021, and each year, we take on new projects to continuously improve the aesthetics and functionality of the farm while staying committed to sustainable practices. The name "88 Oaks" comes from the 88 acres we own and the abundant oak trees at the back of the property. We live here with our son, Russell, and our Chesapeake Bay retriever, Millie. After getting married on the farm in 2023 and putting so much work into developing the venue, we wanted to share the experience with others, which is why we created 88 Oaks.

Sustainable Farming Practices
When we acquired the farm, it had been used primarily for cattle grazing. Our goal was to improve soil health and biodiversity to ensure future generations can enjoy the land as we do.
We quickly set to work with a plan to benefit local wildlife, soil health, water quality, and our family. Improvements include the creation of wetland features in low areas, planting windbreaks along property lines, establishing wildlife corridors to connect various features, and adding buffer zones around wetlands.
These efforts reduce soil erosion, filter runoff from agricultural fields, and capture water to increase the overall resiliency of the farm.
